Greening Youth Foundation is an Atlanta-based nonprofit, dedicated to engaging underserved youth and young adults by connecting them to the outdoors as well as careers in conservation. Since 2012 the Georgia Center for Nonprofits has spearheaded its state-wide web-based fundraising initiative Georgia Gives Day, which is designed to streamline the fundraising process for not-for-profit organizations.
Donate to Greening Youth Foundation, on Georgia Gives Day, so you too can help engage more youth, employ more young adults, and donate to the completion the Urban Conservation Training Institute (UCTI). Greening Youth’s goal is to raise $53k. With these funds Agricultural Entrepreneurial programs for inner city youth will be implemented to fund the completion of our UCTI. The UCTI is an environmental based workforce development site and farm located in the heart of the historic West End Atlanta community. It is seen as a neighborhood hub for many, but it also serves as the training grounds for our Atlanta Youth Corps (AYC). This is where corps members hone and often gain their skills in carpentry, urban conservation, trail building, construction, and much more. The UCTI hosts professional development courses for AYC members where they further expand their repertoire, practice public speaking, fortify their resumes, all while adding other soft skills such as building a strong work ethic, improving communication skills, and cultivating interpersonal skills.
Employment opportunities are absolutely necessary for young adults, and by offering emerging adults with career building job opportunities Greening Youth intends to strengthen the workforce. Donating to Greening Youth Foundation is donating to the community and exposing diverse youth to careers within conservation fields and the great outdoors.
